Do I need to install anything?
No. CarotAi runs entirely in a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari 17+). It uses the Web Audio API directly — there is no app to download, no plugin chain to manage.
Will the AI replace me as a producer?
No, and that's not the goal. CarotAi is a co-producer — it handles the boring parts (renaming tracks, setting up routing, trying ten kick samples) so you spend more time on the creative decisions only you can make.
Whose audio is it? Can I release it commercially?
Yours. Every project you create belongs to you. There's no content licensing claim on the audio you bounce — release it, sell it, sample it, do whatever you want.
Which AI model is under the hood?
The default co-producer runs on Claude (Anthropic). You can bring your own key for Anthropic, OpenAI, or use the managed Pro endpoint with no key configuration.
Can I import my existing DAW project?
Limited today — we accept MIDI files and audio samples. Full Ableton / FL Studio project import is on the roadmap. Stems and MIDI export are already in.
What about latency? Is it really good enough?
Yes for production, no for live tracking through the browser. We target < 20 ms internal latency on a modern machine, which is great for programming, sequencing and mixing. Live multi-mic recording is best done in a native DAW.
